This number supposedly belongs to Pittman White and Associates from Algona, Iowa- Melissa Williams. They said I took out a payday loan sometime between 2008-2011 and the check bounced so they need immediate action. They knew my name, last 4 digits of SS, and the city I lived in. I have never taken a payday loan. She could not give me the name of the company that the loan was through or the date or the original amount. She said I now owed $865.36 with a $500 legal fee but would settle for $500 if I would let her transfer me to a third party secure line and then go pay on a website. I had my purse stolen with my SS card in it ( I know- stupid) but I'm worried that now that I have removed the freeze on my credit they may be working that.
