Mediacom soliciting business "deals". They called our home phone. I repeatedly tell them "THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS", and they claim to remove us from whatever list they have, to no avail.
Have you ever been a customer of theirs? If so, there is a provision in the DNC list rules that a company's customers are exempt from rules. In otherwords, my husband & I were previous customers of Mediacom when we lived on Maryland's eastern shore, 10 minutes from OC, & they have my cell # on file as the emergency contact. So now that we moved out of their service area almost 4 years ago, they're STILL sending me snail mail adverts & calling to (I assume) get us back as customers.
I haven't checked recently if this is allowed, (I have to assume it is, otherwise I doubt a company as large as they would continue the practice & risk the HUGE fines) but I DO know that there IS a provision that allows companies to call current customers to solicit additional services/business from them. Not ethical if you ask me, but it IS allowed.
