...and another call from the scamdog VoIP spoofers
I have 5 or 6 log books full of these calls and as many fcc complaint forms submitted
I added the no soliciting screen last month which consewer svcs promptly walked through on the first day I turned it on
so, no mercy from the lowest form of life on the planet
too bad mr. big bad law enforcement "can't do anything about this," maybe he makes money for each VoIP spoof\scam call?
show me why these calls and their purps "can't be traced," after all the years this has been going on, given the law enforcement computing power hidden in all the basements around the world watching who or whatever they want whenever they want?
see u next time (later today or for sure tomorrow!)
(515) 207-3384 Robo call recorded 06 November 2014 (Brigit at Cardholder Services...reduce your rate...consider this your final notice..." Credit Card SCAM)
Caller ID: "V110611225800094" (derived from date and time so no two people see the same Caller ID)
"Brigit" calling me back a few days after assuring me, "...consider this your final notice..." and even after telling me I didn't qualify for their "lower your rate" offer because I pay my credit cards off in full each month.
Yeah, I wish.
The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid past call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) followed by a 7 second pause, then they say "good bye" and disconnect. when I failed to press any buttons.
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their latest offering:
[female voice] "Hello, this is Bridget with Cardholder Services calling in reference to your current credit card account. There are no problems currently with your account, it is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate to as little as 1%. Your eligibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice. Please press the number 1 on your phone now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate. Or press the number 3 to discontinue further notices. Thank you. Have a great day."
[5 second pause] [female voice] "Good bye".
Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recording on my Spam Calls web page:
I guess we'll continue to play whack-a-mole with these idiots until some government agency puts them out of business. I don't know why they think that telling the same stupid lies from a different phone number every other day will make somebody believe them. Or is just deliberate harassment?
I can't say how many calls I get from these creeps. I've blocked maybe 15-20 numbers but they still keep rolling in.
The culprit here is the phone company, who can EASILY, and I mean easily stop this crap. The word on the net is that they do make money from these scammers, but I don't know if this is true because many of them are using Skype to spoof their phone number on your readout. It's illegal, and there is a verification that needs to be made, but in the hands of a hacker, it's child-play to get around this. Perhaps Skype should be stricter on this. What needs to be done is have congress and the senate be besieged with calls from these birds.
Guess these people have been really busy today. I have not had a call from them in some time, but I NEVER answer a number, even a local cell phone number unless I know the people because of the spoofing and scamming and all their other evil bag of tricks. My incoming call only listed the number, nothing else.
I think the DNC people gave out lists of everyone that asked to be placed on the DNC list. I have an unlisted cell phone and I occasionally get a strange call, but never answer The only people that have my cell number are close friends and family. I did not even give it to my crappy in-laws.
One time, years ago, I took their call and when I said we pay our cards off every month and she continued her script. So, I asked, why would you think I need to lower my interest rate when we never pay interest? Click see-ya---bye!
Sometimes I think this country has gone to heck in a hand basket...daily. There is no such thing as privacy anymore.
Just place the mantra in your brain..."if unknown, leave it alone". We have rental property and I just let it go to the machine when we have an apt opening. I can call them back. So sick of this!!!
