Perhaps they may have the wrong contact number for whoever they're looking for in some cases, but this is a legitimate Wells Fargo number. I work in a law office and deal with WF files and foreclosures on a daily basis. They called my work number today and wanted to discuss one of our files.
This caller is from "Wells Fargo Home Equity" and always calls looking for "Jabar Banks." I have no idea who that is, but I have had my phone number for several years, so I suspect it's probably a collection agent tracking down an ancient client.
It's Wells Fargo. They were calling about a short sale (I'm a Realtor selling a short sale listing). It could also be collections, as they call from the same center.
