Wells Fargo Bank, I applied for a Home Equity Loan with them and they called me back to go over the loan details.

Same here.  Wells Fargo rep called to go over loan details.  Provided 800-724-5217 as a callback

Did you ever find out who the caller really was?

I submitted a loan application this morning and have been receiving calls all afternoon from this phone number.

Seems they don't know how to read the application. I said there to call me at my after-work hours phone and they callled me at my cell and office during work time.
