same story...Got a call that said my Visa Debit card had been suspended from First United. I don't have one from First United. "Automated" voice requested call back. Found the number on this web site first. Glad I didn't call back
I too got an automated call this morning, stating my Visa Debit card has been suspended, and to call 515-414-0258. I don't have caller ID so I do not know what number they called from. I immediately sensed foul play, but decided to call the number anyway. The automated response said it was security division for First United Services Credit Union, and asked me to provide my card number for activation. There was no option to talk to any person, so I just hung up. It sure was a phishing call.
Just as with the messages above, got a call approx. 6:45 am Pacific Daylight Time. Automated message from "First United Services Credit Union" stating that my First United Visa card had been suspended, and to call the 515-414-0258 number. Since I have no such card, it seemed pretty clear this was a phishing expedition.
[When I realized what was going on, I have to admit to be momentarily angrier at getting woken up early than at the lame phishing expedition!]
