I got a call last night along the same lines as the other, except they said it was Land of Lincoln credit union. I called the number and I got the same recorded messge. I, too, hung up.
I got a call with a recording that stated my debit card had been suspended and to activate my card to call this number 515 414 1344. I called my bank directly and was advised my card had not been suspended and likely this call was a phising call.
I also received the same call. This exchange is owned by the Ogden Telephone Company (appears legitimate). The Ogden police dispatcher says they don't have a 414 exchange. My search says OTC owns it. They say to deal with my local police. My local police say they won't do anything because "no crime was committed".
I didn't call back, so I don't know if this number is a working number.
The phone # is active. If you call, you get a recording saying they are Madionusa Valley Federal Credit Union and to press 1 to activate your card. Do what I did, hang up!
I got a call also from this number tonight. I called back after it said my debit/visa had been suspended and it also said to click 1 to actvate. I hung up immediately. I will check my cards to make sure everything is in order.
