I keep getting calls from this number asking me to refinance my home all they need is some infromation from me, this has got to be a scam I do not own I rent told them if they call one more time I was calling the cops. When you try to call the number back all you get is a recording saying "the number you have called is disconnected, this is a recording".
Six times today I have received voice mails from a man named Officer Williams from 515-418-9339 stating that they are an officer and that "my friend" (they even use his name.. however, its not a friend of mine... just someone I know) has been involved with fraud activities and that I need to call them back to wire them money to avoid being arrested myself.
The man has such a thick accent that I can barely understand him. Sounds like he is from India.
DO NOT EVER give out any info to them. They will tell you personal information to try to get you to give in. Please be careful, there are so many scams out there today. Just remember that if it was actual charges you would have heard from an actual officer in person or by mail, not somebody with a terribly thick accent looking for personal information.
I received a call from a local area code 515-418-9339. When I look this number up in here it has a variety of different callers. I would guess they are just sending a false caller ID with a local exchange so I might pick up. The message left on my voice mail stated my name as asked whoever lives here to call and verify if the number they have is correct. They then gave a call back number of 888-524-4075. When calling the number they give, I get a recording with no identifying information. Just thank you for calling, if you know your parties extension please dial it now if not press 2. If you press 2, you get silence. If I call the number on the caller ID I get a message stating the caller you are trying to reach is not excepting calls at this time. I look up the 888 number and it is for a collection company.
