I just got this same call and must have asked too many questions becuase they said they would have to call me right back and never did. LOL. This is not obvious to everyone that it is a scam especially since we had called the credit company two weeks ago to ask for a lower interest rate. Thank goodness I know not to give personal information out.
They claim to work with all credit companies to lower interest rates and that there are no up front fees because they make profit on the interest savings (that noone is paying?). When I gave them information regarding my limit $x and my total balance as $x-about 100 dollars, they claimed that I would not be approved because it was so close to the limit. They wanted another card that was the "furthest away from the limit" to get the new low rate on and claimed that it would "apply to ALL open revolving accounts". A dream come true but too good to be true, nevertheless.
This is where the lightbulb went on and I asked what company they were with and they said Freedom Credit Financial or something like that. Then he asked if he could call me back in five minutes and never did. Hmmm... was it something I said?
Just got a call from this company for lower interest rate on my credit card. I don't have a credit card in my name and stated that and they hung up. Well if they got my number and maybe my name. Wondering if that is the case so they may know of someone that stole my identity. I just wanted to ask if that was the case or if they are cold calling people. Well, if my identity was stolen and they didn't help. If I ever find out who they are I may have a case to sue them for not giving me information.
Tried calling back and number was out of service and now constant busy signal.

I missed this number on my phone, and they called me twice. No voice mail. My husband is in a school (without his phone) where something can happen and he could call me to get dropped from the class. I almost had a heart attack! So I googled area code 515, then found this website, and searched for the number. Guess what came up? This number. I think that some company down in the South is selling my information to telemarketers.
They just won't leave me alone either, and forget asking them to stop calling. I have been reporting them to the do not call folks for over a year and that is a waste of time, too. If you try to call them back their number has already evaporated so I suspect that they are working with one of the phone companies. Here is what I have done. I went to Walmart and bought a very LOUD air horn from the boating department. It sits beside my phone and now I can't wait for them to call, and just now they did. I stepped outside while the recording was playing, then pressed 1 to talk to a rep. Poor Jessica - I can picture her sitting in the emergency room with a tampon in her ear! If you can't find them just be patient and they will come to you. I am told that a police whistle works well, too. Happy hunting!
