I received the same call on my phone then a while later my Mother received the same call. I don't trust anyone asking for my personal information and not having the option to call them! It's a scam!!
So they called back the next day with my 'free' cruise details. Two tickets (me & guest) to be used within the next 18 months. I am responsible for my own air fare or other transportation to FL. I pay the port tax of $59 each ($118 total) today with credit card. Cruise is 2night/3day aboard the BLUE STAR CRUISE LINE (MyBahamaCruise.com) leaving from port in Palm Beach, FL, destination Grand Lucayan Beach on Grand Bahama Island (about 70-100 miles east of Palm Beach). Cruse itinerary: Board at 3:30pm, leave port at 6pm,
deboard at 8am and enjoy entire day at Grand Lucayan Beach (I think), reboard at evening, cruise back to FL on the following day, deboard at Palm Beach in a.m. This is considered a 3 day/ 2 night cruise. It will cost you the port tax/fees up front ($188 total) with a credit card payment today. You have 18 months to use your tickets, except Christmas & New Years, with 60 day prior reservation of your room on cruise.
I asked if I could think about it an call them back tomorrow. No way. I have to make my decision right now.
Then, they offered a week-long vacation. For $1470 I can have the following package for two: a rental car, 2 nights in Ft Lauderdale and $50 free play at cruise casino.
Then, they sweetened the offer. For $1670, I can have the following package for two: an 8 night vacation including a rental car, 2 nights in Ft Lauderdale meals included, 1 night on cruise, 3 nights on Grand Lucayan Island (alcohol & meals provided), board ship at 5pm return to FL, drive (my rental car) to Orlando Universal Studio Resort (meals included), then drive 3 miles to Orlando airport. Total 9day/8night vacation package.
I wanted to call back tomorrow. She said the $118 deal becomes $600, and the $1670 deal becomes $3995. if I wait.
So, she said, "You call your spouse. I'll hold for as long as you need."
So, I came back on and said, "No, thanks." Then she sweetened it even more by lowering the $1670 down to $997."
I asked how she could get around the National DNC List. Their original call was to inform me I'd won. That call asked for my permission to call back with details on my "free" cruise. That's how they get around it.
