I got one 8-12-20-10 and 8-11-2010.and other times.
I have registered my phone on do not call list and I still get them.
The caller ID comes up as urbandale and I have family that lives in urbandale & a 99 yr old Aunt who just broke her hip,so I answere it thinging it's a emergency.
Call wanting me to talk with my state representative, even offering to dial up his office, but, what I did not understand was what I was supposed to say. The caller was talking too fast for me to follow him.
Caller with telephone number 515-974-6746 rang us up about 7 o'clock the last two evenings (Wed & Thurs., Sept. 23 & 24.) When we answered, the caller hung up. I dialed the number and got a recorded message: "Campaign headquarters, please leave a message." Campaign headquarters for what/whom?
My guess: It looks as if some calling company is charging their clients simply if someone answers their calls -- and the calling company is not fulfilling its contract to conduct a conversation. It charges the client for the call but actually makes no conversational contact.
Called us once yesterday, four times tonight. When you answer, someone hangs up; when you return the call and woman's voice says to leave your name and number, but we didn't.
It feels like we are being harrassed, could not even watch our favorite program as the phone rang four times in the space of a half-hour.
Map shows the caller is calling on a side street off SW9th Street, just a few blocks from Army Post Road.
We've had numerous calls from this number too, and have not answered any of them, didn't recognize the number. Thanks to each of you for posting. At least we know its not a legit phone call. Last call on 09-24-09 at 6:47PM.
