Because I had some extra time today to spare before I left work I decided that I would call this number back. I have been hung up on at least 15 times when I start asking questions. Of course I gave them a fake name and number but they insisted I was who I said I was and owed taxes for 2010. As soon as you ask a question they freak out and hang up. I was also told the first time that I would have an officer at my home in 45 min to arrest me.
I sure hope people look this up and read the comments before falling for this scam.
I got a call this morning at my business. My employee took down the name - Richard Collins and was told by this individual that the owner "Burk Hunter" was being sued by the Federal Government. My business has never been owned by a "Burk Hunter". I asked my employee if this Richard Collins left a name of the federal agency and she said he did not. I called the number back and after several rings, a male answered in an asian accent "United States Treasury". I asked to speak to "Richard Collins". He asked me to hold and then another asian accent guy came online and asked my name. When I stated my name and asked for which federal agency he worked for, he said "F### You, you Bi#t## A$$ M Fer". At that point, I simply said, whatever and hung up.
