WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!
I bought a throw away cell phone and not use my good one so I forward my home number to the phone I buy minutes for. Yes, it could get expensive but it has gotten rid of some telemarketers and I'm not using my REAlL cell phone. They simply call my house number and it goes to that little throw away phone and once in a while I change the number.

Please tell us how that helps reduce spam calls.
As far as I can tell from your post, ALL calls to your home phone are forwarded to your cheap cell ... spam calls as well as "good" calls. You must answer the cheap phone to distinguish which is which.
It would have been more effective if you spent a few bucks on a call blocking device for your home phone. One-time charge. No additional/ monthly/ per call fees. Push a button and the caller's phone number is blocked. Easy peasy.
They called 10-22-15 at 4:18 pm. The first time they called they hung up before I could answer but they called back not even a minute later and I answered and said hello twice and after the second hello there was a ding sound and after that an automated voice system said good bye and hung up. I honestly don't know how to feel about this.
I received three calls from 516-206-9010 (They called at 2:09, 2:29pm and at 4:19pm). I did not answer the calls because I did not recognize the number and I figured they would leave a voice message . They never left a message. When I redialed the number I was given the option to not receive calls from them again by dialing a one. I was informed my number would be removed from their database within 48 hours.
