No message left per se, but I could hear a brief boiler operation in those brief seconds -- maybe two or three voices -- and yes, they are easily recognizable as Indian accents. You know times are tough when even these scammers have to outsource their illegal activity overseas.
This is a not very well run call center in Mumbai that is using an American exchange in Nassau County, N.Y. somewhere near Garden City to bother us here. Sometimes they attempt to actually sell something but if you answer and no one is there they still record your number as active and current and sell it or trade it in a list to some other company. The best thing to do is reject the call so it appears as if no one answers your phone or it is inactive or simply put the number on your reject list if you don't want to fool them. If you have an answering system and you can't simply reject it they have you for their list. I don't use the mailbox for my cells for that reason. If someone wants to leave me a message they text.
As I'm reporting this spam call, I'm getting another spam incoming call at this very moment. Don't they realize they are wasting their own time, nobody falls for their nonsense, do they?
