Scam call from Mike of The NY Police Chiefs Association loooking for donations. When asked if he was a cop, he says yes, when asked where he worked he quickly disconnects. Cops do not solicit donations by phone, do not give this guy any info or money !!
These scam calls from the so called NY police chiefs association have been going on for years. They use many different numbers and area codes.They get away with it because these telemarketing scheming assh#les donate a measly one percent to a police charity, They obviously keep the rest.They use classic agent assisted automation technology. What this means is that you are talking to a computer, not a person. There is a person involved,probably in India, Pakistan, Philippines, or maybe even the US.. This person is sitting behind a computer soundboard, responding to your answers by hitting a button with prerecorded responses. I have received so many calls from these pieces of sh#t, that I make it a point to mess with them.I usually respond with outrageous questions and answers and then get some ridiculous prerecorded computerized response. If everyone took this approach, these vultures would have a lot less time to scam people, not to mention that it can be entertaining. As noted in a previous post, the police in NY state never solicit donations. So rest assured, you are not being contacted by the police. You are being contacted by telemarketers that have found a loophole in our laws.It's amazing that these crooks are still in business.
They called tonight at 9:00 pm. When I heard the word "policy" I did know who they were.
I respond with word "what" very very loud. They hand up.
More than ten years ago , they (a man) even came to my office, try to find the back door.
In the year of 1980's, They did obtain some money from a Chinese state company in the Long Island, NY by use the word "police".
