Called and asked (if fairly poor English) if they could speak with the person in change of AR. I asked for a name, and she just repeated herself louder, then hung up.
Never identified herself or her company.
I was billed 5 times on my latest Visa bill - 50 dollars each. When I called their Long Island number all I got was a recording. Visa said the only way to resolve this dispute was to cancel my card and get a new card. Very inconvenient. I am going to call the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. This is out and out fraud; maybe someone can contact the FBI since this reeks of interstate criminality.
Interesting that I called this number today. I got the same recording about an ad, but there also was an option to access the company directory. When I typed in the name Richard Green the recording said there is nobody by that name. I left another recorded message to have them call me back so I can retrieve the $100 I'm still owed. In the meantime, I've amassed a number of websites to report this company (along with the New York State Department of Law Charities Bureau). I have also been in contact with Charity Navigator to alert them of the situation. They don't prosecute, but they do rate legitimate charities.
I did the same thing, per the credit card company. I cancelled the card and was issued a new one. Now I'm getting letters with a fake "notice of pledge," which I never made.
These people having been charging my credit card for over a year now. Like an idiot, I missed it because the amount was small initially $25. They then doubled it to $50 then to $100. They even double charged most recently. They must have gotten my credit card from a previous donation. No more donations for me.
Thank goodness I had feeling this was a fraud and scam and did not give my credit card number. I can't understand how they can continue to collect against credit cards based on the above. Maybe someone can report them to channel 5 or channel 12 news.
I received call about donation, but told them to send me details in writing. I received pink donation form with details of my credit card to be filled in. I will now rip this up.
I did not keep record of caller ID since they called awhile ago.
