This individual has called me several times and states she is from a division of MS Department of Rehabiltation. She also states she is the Director of the agency which is incorrect. She is very rude and persistent. Has a very nasty attitude. If you are selected Who's Who then why are they requesting you to pay $150 for a portfolio and a plaque? This should be free if they selected you. Do not answer this call if you receive one from this number it is a prank. 516-409-4490
This company sent me a fax to fill out claiming I was chosen for the Latino Who's Who. Everything looked legit so I fill out all the fields and fax it back. Two days later they called me claiming to be from the Latino Who's Who and congratulating me for been selected. Then they said that my incursion was free but that the only way they get funds is by selling to the winners different packages that include a book, plaque, etc. The "Platinum" was $599 and the "Gold" $454. When I told them that it was too high she repeated my answer giving the clue to another person that was with her in the same room listening to our conversation and you could her that third person telling her what to say and she was repeating word by word what that other peson was telling her. Finally, she was offering me a plaque for $199 and I told her that I was not going to be able to pay any money and asked for her phone number, which was 516-409-4490 extension 111. That made me think it was a scam call. After that I search the number and I got to this page. Now I'm reporting this number.
Well, because you filled this piece of crap out and sent it back, they are going to sell your name to more spammers and scammers, even if they couldn't trick you out of money this time. Welcome to the sucker list (kind of a Who's Who of potential victims).
Oh, and did you know that the fax they sent you constitutes unsolicited fax advertising and is a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in the USA and they can be liable for a minimum of $500 fine? You just sent your information to criminals, congrats!
