Call from this number to our home number. Scan to try to get you to give control of your computer to them so they can fix some sort of "technical problem". I'm a senior systems engineer and have been tracking these scam groups, trying to shut them down. Don't answer calls from this number, or if you do, tell them you realize that they are a theft ring and that you will turn their number over to the proper authorities.
Frequent calls on a Saturday. Caller ID says "New York". I do not know anyone by that name and do not wish to, so I did not answer, but the phone ringing every half-hour is very annoying.
Two calls from 516-475-2131, left no message. Based on comments here, looks like the "malware extortion scam" where they download malware to your computer which totally locks up the computer and they demand money to "fix" the problem they created. Caller ID: New York
Called 3 times yesterday but left no message, keep bugging us even thouogh I have previously told them to go away and that we were on the national do not call list.
