Same here. Had a Hispanic sounding man call today from 516-492-7210 saying they had my brother. Called local police. They said this is an ongoing scam and most likely the guys calling aren't even in this country. They disguise the phone to look like a local phone number so there's not much anyone can do except to be smart.
516-492-7210 Nutcase with a thick accent says he is trying to deliver food and when I tell him he has the wrong number, he just hangs up! He also texts me, and I ended up blocking his number. He's like a pesky fly and won't go away!
My poor old grandmother received a call from this number (516) 492-7210 Sound like a Latino man pretending to be woman with a thick Spanish accent claiming one of her grandchildren was in major trouble with the police and they needed $500 via credit card to bail him out. I believe the caller was a scammer and became very aggressive, luckily my cousin had stopped by and was able to keep her from giving out her personal information.
The caller called back at least 5 times after that, getting more hostile and aggressive each time.
