Received a call from a Peter Anderson, claiming to be from IRS. He was very rude and new my name. I hung up because he demanded to know who I was.i didn't believeve him for a minute. No one is calling me demanding to know who I am. Area code is a NY area. Today I recieved an e-mail about more IRS fraud. Talked about my home, accounts and so forth. Calling fraud department of IRS through my accountant. BEWARE.
So it's not the irs, I got an email that it they say that its Peter Anderson. I'm just making sure it's a scam because my buddy got this to and hasnt done his taxes
Yeah, you can google IRS SCAM and get a head full of the cr@p these scammers are pulling. The main point to remember is the IRS will contact you ONLY by snail mail, at least as the first communication. They don't email or text, and would only phone you after you've been contacted and maybe called them back.
Don't call back to any of these numbers from people pretending to be the IRS, and block them if you can so that future calls won't get through to you.
As for your buddy, he might be in trouble for not doing his taxes, but he'll hear about it in the mail, not by phone.
