I was contacted today by 1800-111-3344 and was told i was selected by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to receive a $10,000 grant. I unfortunately believed the people I was speaking with and they had me purchase four different moneypak cards in order to send them the taxes and registration fees to receive the grant money. Please do not make the same mistake I did. I am now out almost $1,400. The other number they asked me to call was the 516-554-0002 and I also spoke to a William Price at extension 115 the Accounts Department, Kevin Jones the Chief Managing Account Officer, and David Oscar at extension 789. Hang up the phone and block these numbers if they try to contact you.
This number was given to my husband by a person calling regarding a free federal grant if he put $ 200 on a greendot credit card and gave the caller the info. The number that originally called his phone was 1-800-111- 3344, you can't call it back. Luckily he told me about it and scams are all over Facebook or he would have lost money. The scammers were foreign sounding. The 1 800 number is associated with other scams. The man said his name was Austin Matthews. The 800 number is out of Washington D.C. The other number is out of New York.
This number is a scam. They have you convinced at first like it really is free grant money. Some foreign men wanting 200$ in order to get 9800$. Grant money is free you shouldn't have to pay to get it.
A foreign sounding man called me from phone # 8001113344 and told me he was with the U.S. govt. and my phone # had been selected by me pay in my credit card bills and taxes on time, and had never filed for bankruptcy.I knew he was full of bull because I had filed for bankruptcy and certainly have played some credit card bills late over the years. When I told him this he said that he was going to send me $9,800.00 dollars and if I didn't want it he was going to give it to someone who did.He also said I needed to agree to not use it for any illegal purposes. He then gave me a New York phone # 516-554-0002 and told me that in order to receive the money I had to call this # as soon as we hung up or I would risk losing this govt. grantthat did not have to be paplayed back.Of course when we hung up I immediately googled the 516 # and got this sight. While I've been typing this I have had the 516 # call me three times which I ignored. Please do not fall for this scam. The man makes you feel good for paying your bills on time, then tells you that free money is just a phone call away and makes you think if you ask questions or delay following his instructions you RISC losing all that FREE money.Clearly they have been schooled in manipulation techniques and suck at it.Every one knows in this day and age that you don't believe anything you hear and maybe half of what you see.For everyone else I hope your curiosity makes you Google these type of #'s and not call the second # given to you.
