Got message on phone after posting add on craigs list within one day of posting high ticket item, offered to pay by Pay Pal and said her moving company would pick up the item once the funds cleared , Used the email [email protected], I am thinking this is a scam as normally people will say can you do any better on the price, but this lady practically bent over backward to say, I am fine with the price

The scammer offers an eBay / Craigslist / other auction site seller a wonderful deal. The scammer will use "PayPal" to send the money, so the deal will "be protected by PayPal". Here are some of the variations on the scam:

The scammer picks up the item or has it delivered to a place that has no snailmail tracking. Since there is no online-visible proof of delivery, the scammer successfuly files and wins an Item Not Received case with PayPal, and gets both the money and the item.

The scammer sends the seller a PHONY link to PayPal. The phony link states the item was paid, but the seller has to send some money or the Tracking Number "to release the funds". The scammer gets both the money and the seller's PayPal login information!

I posted an ad on Craigslist and got a text right away: "hello .. I am Myer ..is the above listing still up for sale? ..get back to me at marymyer0null" .  With my background in IT, when I saw the 0null on the email name, I automatically suspected a scam; some kind of automated text.  On another text, insisted on PayPal account for payment and even sent me a link to set up a PayPal account.  I replied CASH ONLY.  Be careful folks.

Here is her new number. Tried to buy my pool table. Did no further communication with him/her.
