Getting from an extension 516-656-4161. They must have a cue system that dials your number and then connects to the next available solicitor. Then they use a recording of someone saying your first name. So after I said hello, and got nothing I waited. Someone picked up and I heard, "Harry?" (male voice), I kept silent, then again, "Harry?" and I could tell it was a recording.
I made the mistake of donating to a few charities around Christmastime. Those charities then make even more money compiling and selling lists with peoples names and numbers as "Good leads".
Don't they realize people like me are NEVER GIVING TO THESE CHARITIES AGAIN?? - I guess not. Also how low to you have to go before you become a telephone solicitor. I'd rather shovel sand against the tide than be the annoying person who bothers people at home.
I no longer trust these charities. They are a "for profit" business. Don't kid yourself, they're in business to make money.
These are scammers - big time. Seems they're starting their calls again. They pretend to be the Fraternity of Police Officers. This time I picked up, told them my precinct said they were scammers, and the police do not call for contributions; also I was on the DNC list and to stop harrasing me. They slammed the phone.
