They constantly call. I keep blocking the numbers that come up and they keep calling on different numbers. I tell them not to call they say ok or hang up and still call. It's a scam. They say Fraternal Order of Police but I don't believe it for one second.

Unless you live in (516) area code or expect calls from (516) just block the code or don't answer it.
They will not speak up unless they hear you sound like an helpless old lady or man. Any sharp younger voice they will not engage. They are trolling looking for a sucker. They can not reach me any longer for I 've blocked all there numbers. And if a new one shows up I just add it on.

May I suggest that if you do answer one of these calls have fun with them. Sound old and daffy and they will speak up. Keep them on the phone as long as you are up for the game and waste their time with false information and promises of monies and of course give them nothing. Tell them stories about how your uncle was a police officer in 40s or 50s etc etc and tell them tall tales. Keep them on the phone. If they hang up..call them back on any of the above numbers. My favorite thing to do is take their numbers and place ads on Craigslist for services. If everyone does it then will have a movement.
I got a call from that number, but did not pick up. When my answering machine went on, the caller said only "Hello, is the lady of the house there?"
The New York Times reported some years ago that no police department and no association of police officers in the United States solicits money by telephone. Therefore, all those requests for donations are fakes. Those scammers prey especially on the elderly and on women (see above).
