Same thing for me today. Facebook friend request from someone I know, then asked for my phone # to tell me something. Texted me about a FaceBook lottery.
This came as a friend request from my aunt on Facebook. She is older so I thought she had just messed up so not thinking I accepted. Got immediate msg wanting my phone number because she had something important to tell me. This is the number it came from. I defriended and blocked both Facebook pages.
This is a scam. They are associated with the Facebook Lottery Poker scam. My friend's FB account was hacked. They used her name but dropped the middle name to a middle initial. They used her picture and wanted to Friend me. When I did they said they had exciting news and wanted my cell number. All the time I thought this was my friend's new account. I gave them my cell and they talked about this lottery "she" won and my name was on it. I noticed the area code was no where close to where my friend lived. I questioned them about which grade school they attended. No response. I wanted to talk instead of text, they were too busy. It is a scam.
Someone from this number or associated with this number hacked into my Facebook account and sent friend "requests" to everyone on my friend's list asking for their phone numbers. My cousin's daughter, who lives in New Jersey also was hacked tis evening. One of my Facebook friends did get the area code 516 number. I Googled it and this information popped up. I figured it was some kind of a scam. Hoping other people get this message proactively.
The same as the others on here. A friend's Facebook page was hacked, sent a message about 'good news' and wanted cell number. I was 3/4 asleep, so I sent it. I got some texts about winning something about Facebook lottery. I knew what it was then!
