I had a call this morning from this number. The caller with an accent told me he was from Microsoft Support and there was an error message he was getting from my computer. I told him he was a scammer and he proceeded to ask me why I thought that. I love to mess with these people. I had another similar call last week on my cell from a different number from Kansas.
This number called me and caller ID showed it to be from a Robert Baumgartner and I answered. There was a woman on the other end telling me I had computer troubles and I cut her off appropriately.
After 2 unanswered calls today I decided to answer. A male w/ an East Indian accent said he was from Microsoft, I listened to hear further w/o saying anything & he hung up. Weird call, he didn't give his spiel, just hung up. Since the 'answered' call, they have called twice more today w/o me answering or them leaving msg. Weird, annoying but weird.
Scam artist claiming to be with Microsoft Support. Particularly interesting since I have a Mac, but I really enjoyed stringing this scumbag along for over 20 minutes while I pretended to slowly make my way through the house to get to the computer and then repeatedly having to "reboot" my Windows 2000 only to tell him that I don't have Internet. It's so much more fun if you just make it a game.
