Caller ID says "TROY    NY".  They leave no message.

I believe that the 276 corresponds to the RPI phone system.  My first assumption is a RPI fundraisng call (previous fundraising calls came from 276 2010).

I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number).  I hear, "<about 20 seconds of a fast busy signal> We're sorry your call can not be completed at this time.  Please, hang up and try your call again later.  Thank You."

So they spoof their caller ID, leave no message, and can't be called back.  I am getting a SCAM vibe.

I went to their web site (www.rpi.edu), and x4359 does not correspond to their donation number.  I wonder if this is a scammer spoofing an RPI number to SCAM RPI alums.  If you wish to donate, do so through their website.  Do not trust this number.

I called the RPI alumni office (using *67 to block my number).  The person I spoke with looked up this extension (4359) and it is associated with fundraising from RPI.  I informed them that the "TROY  NY" on caller ID and the inability to be called back make me suspect a scam.  He told me he would pass it on to the appropriate party.  I am not holding my breath.

He asked for my name.  I declined to provide it.  The operator was polite.

I get multiple calls from this exchange in Troy. The last four digits are always slightly different, but it is clearly not a legit organization.  My son goes to RPI  so at first I was alarmed. Now I block them both on my phone and with an app. Unfortunately, the callers keep on using different numbers for the last four digits.
