The message on my answering machine is cut off at the beginning but it sound like they are saying tax audit and that they tried to reach me at my mailing address with no response. They also said to not disregard or ignore this message and to call back to this department immediately.
Left message...concerning IRS Audit. Do ignore this class. It is very important that you return the call.
I thought scam! but I did call the number. No longer in service.
The message said to call the IRS back at the 518 - 304 - 6224. The telephone number that this scam called to tell me about my tax audit, has never been used on any other information with IRS or otherwise. This is just a random bot call and who knows where this number actually goes to. It's a scam.
