I just got two emails from a PayPal fraudster, who said he needed information about my Visa card because my latest business did not go through. If I needed further information I should call the number 1-518-741-2708. He did not mentioned where the number was located.
yep, this number is a scam, run by a criminal identity-theft gang. The number is from South Glen Falls in Saratoga County.
I did a *67 Blocked Number call to 518-741-2708 and it rang twice, then dead air for about 15 seconds, then it went disco. The ring tone was a double ring tone ("ring-ring....ring-ring...") like you get when calling overseas to the UK. It's likely this number is being forwarded overseas from the NY location.
I also got the email from INC.PAYPAL and thought it is better to call the number and not respond to the email. I didn't realize how gullible I am. They said I won a trip to the Bahamas' on a cruise out of Los Angles. They said they are from a radio station there.
Here's an idea... If you don't like somebody call from their house. I've canceled my land line and they've stopped calling me since.. just have to change email address's and they'll be shut out.
50% correct. If you have internet, consider a voip phone instead of a land line phone. Cheaper, with more features. Call blocking is one of them. If you can't do that. Consider investing in a land line call blocking device. Around $40. You can block area codes as well as individual numbers.
