Listed my boat for sale and got a text that they wanted to buy the boat. Wanted my name and to know if I had a pay pal account. When I asked for a phone number to reach them they stated due to bad weather could only get text.
same thing happened to me. trying to sell a boat, scamming me through paypal. name used by scammer is "ronald green". i reported him to paypal. may be rot!
Just received a message from this same phone # this morning. Did not give my PayPal information out. Asked for a Cashier's check. Thank you for making your posts and making me aware of this issue.
I too listed my boat on boattrader.com and received text msg " Hi, this is Ronald. Is this boat still for sale? 2001 Eliminator Boats Eagle 236 Closed Bow $27,999
You clearly tell as well scam no one text part of the actual verbage
Same story...Got a text from "Ronald" (about an hour ago) asking if my boat (in BoatTrader) was still for sale. I responded that it was, and haven't heard back yet. Glad I read this forum...
