The original call was from 801-736-9999. A message was left instructing me to call this number.
Here's what I posted on 800notes for the originating number:

Message was text-to-speech (computer generated) and said the following:
"This call is a official final notice call from IRS. The reason of the call is to inform you that IRS has filed a lawsuit against you. To know more information call immediately our IRS department number 520-353-4723. I repeat 520-353-4723."
Reminder: The IRS uses the USPS to inform people of lawsuits, not the telephone. Even if the IRS did contact people by phone, the certainly wouldn't leave a voice message without specifying who the message was for or giving some sort of reference number.
I have to believe this was generated by a foreigner due to the slight irregularities in wording and the use of computer-generated text-to-speech (probably to hide an accent or poor English.)
Finally, the phone number they said to call back is provided by an Arizona VOIP carrier. (BROADVOX-CLEC, LLC - AZ)
As a VOIP, it can be used by anybody anywhere in the world.
Received a call from an Unknown Caller to my cell phone claiming to be the IRS and that I needed to go get cash out of my bank account and take it to a disclosed location.
Just received a call from this number claiming they were from the IRS about my taxes and they have audited me. Told me my DL was suspended and a Warrant was out for my arrest for IRS fraud. I admit I panicked but listened. What caught me was they stated I needed to head to Wal-Mart with my debit card and that I couldn't pay on line at the IRS website.. You could hear them laughing in the background.. Told me I couldn't disconnect the phone line or the Sheriff would pick me up.. I walked out of work with them on hold pulled this site up and read the messages.. I hung up and they called me back several times from a local phone number 210-399-9515.. His name was Jeff Dawson (so he said). They originally called me from 518-545-3009 called and left me a message.. The IRS will never call you nor with the local authorities pick you up.. Be aware..
