This number called and left no message. Caller ID showed "ESURANCE" which may be associated with Esurance out of Arizona, a car insurance company and in review. the area code is associated with Arizona. As usual, left no message so I guess they want me to call them, I hope they are salivating by their phones waiting for my call.
I thought perhaps they had the wrong number, so I answered. Was *NOT* about insurance of any type. It was a recording and it first said something like, "Don't hang up - this is not a call to sell you something". The recording said that our name was given as someone that might have taken a specific blood-thinning medication. wth? I then hung up; no one in this household is on that type of medication.
What's interesting is that I've also received spam emails regarding a medication(also a blood thinner)that is being investigated and a possible lawsuit. I've never taken blood thinners in my entire life(nor has anyone in my house)and am really getting sick of all these ridiculous calls and spam emails! I don't bother anyone, but apparently we either have companies out there who are just selling out personal info to any who wants it and will pay or we have some jerk(don't have many enemies out there, but we do have a couple of attention-getting, immature family/former friends who are troublemakers and are very capable of signing us up for these kinds of things, only making the problem worse with these companies selling our information to other companies.).
Regardless, we're really getting sick of this crap with the calls and emails nowadays.
Thank God for Spam Filters and Caller ID(and the ability to BLOCK jerks and scammers)!
We're about ready to go entirely to cell phones and only a few select people having the number.
Don't be paranoid: These calls are probably randomly dialed by robots operating in India or Pakistan. It's almost certainly nothing personal.
As for cell phones not being called, that isn't true any more. Legitimate telemarketers are not supposed to call cell phones, but these are criminals who don't honor the laws in this country, and once again: numbers are dialed by a robot, so your cell number is just as likely to get calls. The best thing about cell phones - smartphones, at least - is that they all have available call blockers, most of which are free.
