I received the same text message, and I research the little girl's name and the phone number. The phone number belongs to Pageantry Communities, Po Box 11257
Bapchule, AZ 85221 (520-421-1737). This is a scam
Below you will find a note that I received as a text message on my phone. This is circulating, so be aware that number is not who it is supposed to be.
The Note:
PLEASE look at the picture, read what her Dad says, then forward this message on.My 17 month old girl, STEPHANIE ALSBROOK, is missing. She has been missing for two weeks now. Maybe if everyone passes this on, someone will see this child. That is how the girl from Stevens Point was found, by circulation of her picture on TV.... The Internet circulates even overseas, South America , and Canada etc. Please pass this to everyone in your address book. With GOD on her side, she will be found. I am asking you all, begging you to please forward this email on to anyone and everyone you know, PLEASE.It is still not too late. Please help us. If anyone knows anything, please contact me at: 520 421 1737 I am including a picture of her.All prayers are appreciated!!It only takes 2 seconds to forward this If it was your child what would you do?
I also just got a text about a missing child but have looked it up online and can not find anything legit. Is this real? I hate to pass on something that isn't real. Has anyone tried to call the number to find out who or what is going on?
i got the text too. i searched the center for missing and exploited children. its a scam/spam. looks like people are posting it on twitter and their facebooks too.
Beware: If this was legitimate, they would list the city, location of the child, what she was wearing the last time she was seen, how she became missing, and the names of the parents or the local authorities to contact. You would also have an AMBER Alert, as well as numerous news stories when you google the child's name. This is a scam. This appears to be a chain letter - to forward to all your friends etc. Be very leery until you find legitimate sources for accurate information. Also, why believe an story lacking details from a random stranger? Whoever is doing this is using a child's welfare as bait for unknown purpose.
