Called @ 8:10 am on my business number, before start of business day, CID of BC OUTREACH. Went to voicemail, no message left. I've been getting a lot of calls from telemarketers soliciting on behalf of breast cancer lately....
FWIW, the exchange is nominally for T-Mobile cell phones in the Tucson area, but the number block is owned by a private telecom provider that leases local phone numbers to call centers.
Asked for me by name, when I asked who calling then it went into a prerecorded message from Andrea about beast cancer research & their depending on donations....... a minute later the scam ended and when I asked if they were working directly with the organization and a non profit one at that, I heard this is Andrea with the same intro.
Called an extension line at our business today (which is unlisted, we don't give out and we actually aren't able to call on the number either) so I knew it was a junk call. I answered and put the phone on mute so they couldn't hear me. I got 3 very quick robo "hello?"s before they hung up on me. I attempted to call back after I blocked my number just to harass them and try to sell them something that's total bull crap, but the number directed me to a dead line and I was hung up on.
THESE PEOPLE ARE SICK. Using a serious illness that's killed people close to me to scam people for money ears them a special place in hell.
Breast cancer scam. They feed on guilt and high pressure sales tactics. News Flash !! 95% of what they squeeze out of the suckers goes to pay off their yachts and vacation homes and lavish parties !! 5% goes to the phone companies and politicians that let them get away with this C**P. Hopefully they will ALL rot in that special place in Hell reserved for these low life SCUM !!!!!
