Called my cell yesterday. Left no message. I received a similar call to my cell the prior day. Online checking of the number said it was a vehicle warranty scam, just as for this number. Probably the same creeps using different numbers. Disgusting that the government allows hundreds of millions of people to be harassed by crooks in this way-- even the elderly and senile. Federal government is a very poor value for all the money it spends.
Govt has nothing to do with it. These calls come from oversees and the callers/fraudsters use VoIP technologies to make it appear as if they call from inside the US. Govt cannot screen all yout calla for you. You're going to have to assume responsibility for that yourself.
