They are obviously aware that the 530-208-9631 has been reported as being utilized in connection with a scam, for I received an identical call to those decribed above (the male caller, who had such a thick SE Asian accent that his English was barely understandable, identified himself as "Justin Johnson" of "Beck Litigation Dept."), but the individuals behind the scam have apparently changed the telephone number they had been utilizing through which to route, and "mask", their calls, as the call I received originated from telephone number 415-251-3769, in Novato, CA (a small city North of San Francisco). I did not respond to the call, but I am concerned that other people might, particularly elderly individuals who are more susceptible to frauds wherein the perpetrators utilize intimidating threats of legal action, so I made a telephonic complaint regarding this call with the Treasury/IRS Administration. It is unlikely they will take any action, particularly since the calls are probably originating from overseas, and simply being routed so as to make it appear that they are originating in California.
Yes, scam networks have many outlets. This BBB report of similar name acronym. http://www.bbb.org/cleveland/business-reviews ... nd-oh-92010730/ and http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-reviews/r ... and-tx-90014346 am sure there's more.
Got the same call from the "indian", or someone imitating an indian. I hung-up on him, but he called again. He was very rude and obnoxious, and advised that I call the "Kevin Peterson" character. Tried twice but got something like a busy tone. Is there nothing that can be done to find and jail him for life?
Same deal as what was said, except I was out of the country and my parents picked up (I don't even live with them!). I'm so livid .. The woman says she's an IRS agent by the name of Michelle Wong and that I am being audited and needed to call back ASAP. My mother unwittingly told her where I was and gave her some personal info (I swear, if you [***] are trying to steal identities, I'll find you and hurt you myself) .. I came onto this website, and noticed it was a scam.
Bottom line: Governmental agencies will NOT call you as initial contact; it's likelier they'll put it in writing before calling. Don't trust these [***] trying to scam you!
looks like they operate outside US and most of them talk in Hindi on the background noise , then I asked where you guys operate, he started abusing me.
