This is a call from Bank of America regarding a sweepstakes that I've won. On the voicemail message they left a claim # and a phone # to call (888-797-1170) to claim the prize. this is definitely a SCAM.
I had a voice mail call from Bank of America, referencing Sweepstakes Advantage, pertaining to a sweepstakes that I have won. I was given a claim ID number of 77727. I was instructed to call 1-888-797-1170. Upon calling this number I was given a menu of 4 different names, all positions were from their accounting department. I was on hold and never spoke to a live person. I was told to press "0" if I didn't want to wait and I could speak to the next available agent. I waited for a couple of minutes but no one ever answered. It was after 4:00 pm, central time, and it appears the number was an area code in California. So, it would have been after 2:00 pm Pacific time. There was background music while I was on hold waiting to speak to someone.
