I received a call from this number a little after 9 p.m. As with some of the other complaints, it was from a foreign speaking person that I could barely understand. They claimed I had a severe problem with windows operating system. Among other things from downloading music, which I have never done. They wanted full access of my computer in order to fix it. I told them to call back tomorrow night.I will have to see if I can give them a problem. From all the complaints I have read, they must be pretty busy. How dumb they must think we all are.
This number called my DNC listed landline this morning at 0918 hours. As the overwhelming majority of phone calls I get on my landline are scam artists, I was ready. However, I have adopted a new strategy. I pick up the phone and wait to see if someone will speak. In most cases, the call is a robo-message waiting for a voice to activate it, so not speaking doesn't trigger the message and the call disconnects. Apparently the same strategy works for some live scam calls too because when I said nothing it must not have put the call through to the next available scammer because the line disconnected without a peep. (800notes.com needs to have "scam" for a call type category.)
