Impersonated a Federal Marshall & demanded more than $1,000 to "make problem go away". Called back when hung up on and threatened to arrest for hanging up on him. Person would not identify himself by name.
If you get a call from these clowns don't send them a dime. Ask for the field office location and try not to laugh at them when they ask "PO Box?" because of their poor English comprehension skills. If they don't hang up at that ask for the name of the SAC (Special Agent in Charge). Then tell them you are going to lodge a complaint with the OPR (Office of Professional Responsibility). Trust me, they will hang up.
Federal law enforcement agencies do not call and give you a heads up that you are going to be arrested. They arrest you or they send you a "target letter" giving you the opportunity to go in and give your side to a story; the only other way they might contact you by phone would be to invite you to come to the field office for a visit. None will ask you to send a dime to anybody for anything.
This phone number and Eric Williams as a federal agent of any type is 100% a scam. Period. Want to prove it? If you just want to get right in their face tell them you are going to go to their office and kill them all. That would surely elicit a visit from a legitimate agency. Just got a call from DEA Special Agent Eric Williams. I was immediately suspicious due to his loud hard to understand dialect that I thought sounded like a cross between Dominican and New Yorker. He said agents were on the way to arrest me for some Internet transaction from over three years ago and accused me of being a drug trafficker. He also said he was the only one that could help me out. I told him he had it backwards and that my lawyer was the one that was going to help me, and that I was calling him as soon as we hung up. He started backing down, said he would see me in court, and hung up. I soon found this web site and my suspicions have been validated. I'm thankful for sites like this!
Unfortunately it seems he has access to a database with at least our addresses and phone # and maybe even more. That is not good at all and is the main reason we need to stop this [***]. If anyone comes around here that can't deal with my calling 911 for local police support, will be staring at a .357 mag red dot. I'm highly trained and highly motivated to stop this kind of crime!
Accessing and using our private info is a felony along with impersonating a DEA agent. Scumbag is the word that comes to mind. I would like to see this criminal rot in jail. It likely won't be his first visit. He is really scaring a lot of people. Hey Scumbag, if you are reading this, you best be careful. Some of us are determined to find and stop you!
If you are contacted by these criminals, report it to the DEA at 1-877-792-2873. This number is from the DEA website and is tied to the alert specifically for this type of crime. Impersonating Agents is a felony offense as is extortion and the DEA is working hard to catch these criminals. Please do not take the law into your own hands although everyone has the right to defend themselves.
