Robo caller identifies himself as "Steve Martin". NO company name or organization is identified. He says, "I am contacting you.", but never says my name, to inform me of, "An enforcement action executed by the US treasury." He then says, "Ignoring this will be an intentional 2nd attempt to avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury concerning a federal criminal offense." He then says, "We would like to help you!" He then repeats the phone number 530-419-3432. The caller is a recording and speaks with a foreign accent and incorrect english phrasing. The call is from California. East coast I.R.S. or treasury issues would certainly be handled by a Washington, DC office or Philadelphia. The contact would be made by mail not robocall. I have no I.R.S. or Treasury problems. This is definitely a SCAM CALL.
Called just now. Caller ID showed Smith Johnson. 530-419-3432. Said his name was Steve Martin at the U.S. Treasury.
Same as above complaints. I did not call back as this was an obvious scam. I have no problems with IRS or Treasury Dept.
I received the same call from 503-419-3432 yesterday. The man identified himself as Steve Martin and threatened that I had ignored a summons to appear before a magistrate for some nebulous federal crime. Very strong British/Indian? accent. I did not call back, although I was strongly tempted to, just for the entertainment of harassing him.
Steve Martin threatened me with similar bravado. Love 800notes to find out that others are tormented by these bacteria. Blocked the caller. Wish the phone carriers would do something to stop these types of scams.
steve martin has left the same threatening messages on my answering machine. I guess whatever country he is from doesn't have due process and they take innocent people to jail on false charges.
