I saw a listing about a house in Kaneohe, Hawaii for rent and texted the number 530-420-5195 about the details. They responded that the house was still available and how many would be moving in and when we intended to rent it. I responded and they came back with they were not in the state but in North Carolina for missionary work and would be gone for 3 to 4 years. They told me that I could go to the property and peek in the windows to see the interior and that if I liked it that they would send me the keys and documentation via fedex. I immediately knew that this was a scam. People like this should be caught and fined for preying on innocent people.
Caller said he was an owner of a house and tried to rent it to me. He wanted me to send him the deposit by money gram then he claimed he would send the key! Can you say FRAUD!
Where was this place at that he was going to rent to you? I went through an e-mail to rent a place in the town I'm in, this number showed up for contact and he to me the SAME THING!! A right like I'm going to send western union and he will send me the key?!? This happened to day 11-26-13
I knew this was a scam the second I saw it! Beware of any emails such as the one I received below! I received this email in response to a rental I was inquiring about through zillow.com. The phone number in the email was the one listed above.
