Just got a call from these guys. It turns out that Chase Credit card turned over out account to them. They told my wife that they were going to take her retirement. What a bunch of [***]. she is in tears. We tried to make a payment plan but they wanted a minimum of $800. screw them.
Made the mistake of answering this call. It appeared on caller ID as a local number. Turns out to be United Recovery (a collecting agency). I quess their previous calls were ignored, they would be decietful and route the call thru a local town. They are actualy in texas. Want to know more about United Recovery? I googled it. Seems like they have a lot of complaints against them. When you first answer they act like you know them. then they turn into jerks.
THE SAME THING HAPPEND TO ME. IT'S UNITED RECOVERY CALLING ON MY LINE OF CREDIT I CAN'T AFFORD. THEY ASK YOU MANY QUESTIONS BEING ALL NICE MAKING IT SEEM AS THOUGH THEY CAN HELP YOU WITH A LOAN MOD. BUT THEY ARE NOT THE BANK THEY ARE A COLLECTION COMP SO TRUTH IS THEY CAN'T HELP YOU. THEY ARE JUST FISHING FOR INFO BECAUSE "" THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO COLLECT A DEBT AND ANY INFORMATION WILL BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE"".
Just received a call from this number looking for someone else. Gave me an 800# for the return call if I forwarded the message. When I asked him why it showed up as a local call from Knights Landing he said their phone system was complex and he couldn't explain it. Well, I can explain it. They are conning you into answering a local call!!!
Just received a call from 530-506-5058 Knights Landing, I did not answer it but they tied up my answering machine with a song Do You Remember. Well, I was really mad and was ready to raise heck but found your column. Thank You
