They also called my job and left messages at my job. I kinda got scared, but I know I havnt done anything involving a criminal matter so I started looking into the number,and things just wasnt adding up. Im so glad I found this website,,because I was just about to try and talk to them to find out whats going on. Im going to look into reporting them as well. His name was Olsten Jones and the other one was Gary Watson. I wish these people would get out of our country... They are stealing our private information...
I just received a phone call from "HARRINGTON LAW FIRM" , and the person who called me identified himself as " MAX HENDRICKS" senior lawyer at the firm.He sounded very suspicious, and he had a very heavy accent, and it sounded like he was calling from over seas. He threatened me that I will be sued by his client " USA LOAN CASH ADVANCE" for commiting fraud against the company, by taking a payday loan in the amount of $300.00 and never paid it back, therefore I am being sued in California in the amount of $542.32.I told him that this is a scam and I also asked him for the next three things, wich he provided:
1. Name of the attorney sueing me: wich he provided his name " MAX HENDRICKS"
2. The bar association number : he provided number "9370593"
3. The town where he is registered in: he did not want to provide it to me and all he gave me was Texas and California, therefore he was not specific.
I called him back after I verified with BBB( I could not locate this Max Hendricks, nor Harrington Law Firm), and I told him he was a fraud and that I will take action against this scam and report him to the District's Attorney's office, and also I will have my attorney call him and take action against him.
I requested from him all the legal documentation that he has against me, and he could not provide it.
I told him that I will not stop until something is done against him and all others who are involved in this scam.
I already spoke to my lawyer about this and we will see what happens next.
If there are others out there dealing with the same issue, do not give in, they cannot do anything against you in court, and they know that, all they are trying to do is scare and intimidate you.
Do not give them any money, do not let them win.
Thank you guys! Sorry to hear that somebody was in tears. Thanks God I was not even close to that emotions. The guy who called me barely spoke English and there was no any chance that he could work for American law company.
I am an immigrant myself, but pedantically law-abiding and have absolutely nothing to fear or hide and the only crime was that my ss-number was apparently stolen. WITH OBVIOUS INDIAN ACCENT OF A PERSON WHO NEVER EVER BEEN CLOSE TO AMERICA he left the following message: "I am an officer Wosnitski (don't know where he took this name from). The very moment you heaRR tHis call you have must to retoorn it. You aRRe legally sued by an American government" Next time he called I interrupted him "[***] you". Sorry, I am generally very polite, but he deserved something else. Called stopped. Now, two months later they left another message. Apparently time to remind them who they are.
Don't waste your nerve on this criminals.
!!!Google must be careful in providing American phone ##s for them, unless they want to be considered accomplices!!!
I will put Google as a caller company, since it is their responsibility and their mistake. Sorry guys.
