"I received a text message from this number at about 7:00PM pacific time on March 3rd, 2012. The message was as follows (DO NOT go to the web address in the message, it contains malware):
'Dear Starbucks customer, you have won a $50 Starbucks gift card. First 10,000 customers only- www(dot)giftfromstarbucks(dot)com (end offer-reply stop)'
Through some basic web searches I was able to determine that the website in the message is not at all affiliated with Starbucks. A quick visit to the site through a sandbox quickly confirmed that it is a malicious site. The page itself doesn't load (or at least pretends not to load) while in the background it is busy trying to attack your computer. THIS IS A SCAM. If you receive any message from this number DO NOT go to any links it may provide as they are very likely to be infected with malware. Also, DO NOT REPLY TO THE TEXT MESSAGE; it is a 900 number which means that they can charge you a lot of extra money through your phone provider just for a single SMS."
