Received phone call stating I could win a $40 VISA giftcard if I called a toll free number and participated in a poll. I hung up. Monday December 5th at 7:51PM EST.
I tracked the HECK out of this number and even got the Latitude and Longitude of where this call was placed from. It was placed from Shawsville, VA From a home on Oldtown Rd. I also have FINALLY tracked down the name of the woman behind the calls and I will be reporting her to my phone company, the local police, and the FCC in the morning. I am SO upset and disturbed by this because all I was left was a 6 second computerized message with an incomplete phone number to call, there was no area code! I have just been laid off and the message is very similar to those left by the unemployment commission when they are giving you a deadline to call them back! I have tried all known area codes and 800 #'s to figure it out, and after hours of sleuthing and talking to my cellphone company to ensure the security of my account, I find out it's some schmuck of a lowlife woman in Shawsville. It's 11:06pm and I've been at this since 10:22 am!!
I just received a call from this number telling me that I could win a $40 VISA giftcard. They left the toll free number of 888-440-9376 to call and claim my giftcard.
