Caller from this line said his name was "John Smith" from Tech Research Assets. Confirmed with the employee he was asking for that he was a spam caller. Gave him no information and I doubt his name was "John Smith." ಠ_ಠ
Man with accent wanted to speak with a particular manager concerning a webinar invitation. I explained that they can be sent only through standard mail. He argued that he must confirm the contact by speaking with him and then transmitting the invite via email per his company's terms. I told him sorry, but this firm's policy takes precedence over his, and he gave up.
Woman with heavy accent said she was calling on behalf of FedEx and tried to get additional information about me. She knew my name and title at the company I work for, so probably just found it on line. Her line disconnected in the middle of the call.
I agree with you. Received a call from this line today and it's so weird to be talking to a stranger who is so pushy and rude. He called me "dear." First time anyone, anywhere has called me "dear" ever. I didn't transfer him to the person he wanted. He went to the mailroom instead.
