I just got this same exact phone call. It's a call from a 540 number, but they tell you to call an 800 number. I have checked my credit report and there is NOTHING on it, I am making proper payments to anyone I owe. They also called using my maiden name. I'm figuring it's a scam, because who on earth is going to ask you to leave your social in a voicemail?!
Sometimes they don't leave messages. Other times, they leave ones that start off with an "This message is for [name]. If you're not [name] please call [some number]. If you're not [name], please hang up. If you continue to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are [name]." I blocked them some time ago and even though I'm not that guy, I'm not going to waste my time on hold calling, trying to prove I'm not that person! My guess is that they're a bill collector because that's a standard bill collector way of talking!
More likely a scammer than a real bill collector. Would a real bill collector want you to call back if you're *not* the person they're looking for? Why? So they could stop calling? Then everyone who really did owe money but wanted to avoid collectors could just call back and say "Nope, not me. Wrong number".
The bit about " If you continue to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are [name]." is also nonsense because they have no way of knowing if a person is listening or if an answering machine is playing its outgoing message.

They left an automated message, Stated they were selling security systems, press 1 if you want to hear more, press 2 to be removed from their call list.
