Received a call from this # on 6/8/16. Did not pick up phone. No voicemail. I am sure our cell phone companies are selling our information to third parties for additional profits. How could scammers know valid phone numbers if they don't have the assistance of our phone service providers.

They DON'T know which numbers are valid.  They just set up an autodialer to robodial each number in sequence.
