Same here...two calls this morning (Saturday), first a 9 and second at 10. Some folks work very hard during the week, get up well before daylight and don't get home until 8PM and maybe just want to sleep in a little on Saturday. If they are seeking donations, they will NEVER get one from us. We will never "reward" unsolicited calls, ever. We didn't answer the phone and no longer do, unless it is clearly someone we know.
I just replied to xmradio above about also getting calls at 9 and 10am this morning. I keep a log of these calls and just wanted to note that we received a call, on a weekend, from a very similar number (540-699-5710 that time) that was the IRS fraud. Although reports identify the caller as seeking donations for the FOP, I do not buy it. This is probably a larger phone scam operation. FOP? I call [***].
First they called from 703-699-5170. Blocked. Now they are calling from 5172. It is hard to stay ahead of these crooks. And now they are calling at 8:15 AM.
Called at 6:04 PM on Sunday evening. Calling at that time is a dead giveaway it's a scammer. I didn't answer since I never answer numbers I don't know, nor did they leave a message (dead giveaway #2). They're now blocked.
