Never pay the collection agency. If you owe the debt pay it directly to the medical provider with a bank money order NEVER A CHECK! Have it forced endorcement to the medical provider, send it certified mail return reciept. The medical office can not legally forward payment to the collection agency since you have the forced endorcement.
If you pay the bill this way then the medical provider can not legally provide any more information about the account to the collection agency and there for it must be removed from your credit. If you pay the agency it will show as a paid collection which still hurts your report.
Got a call. the caller id says AFC MEDICAL. I did searching and it seems that AFC stands for American Free Clinic. Is this the caller or it is someone else?
These people claim to be a collection agency, but they refuse to show any proof or send any documentation. Do not send them any money or credit card info, something here smells. There is no record of them on the internet either.
